Following the successful clubhouse renovation and addition, Westwood Country Club engaged MTFA Design + Preservation to design and replace a deteriorating tennis bubble with a new state-of-the-art racquet facility, as part of the Club’s long-term master plan. A brand new bar lounge located on the mezzanine level overlooks three new competition-level indoor tennis courts on one side, while the other side of the mezzanine provides premium views onto the unique “court tennis” court.

Serving as the foundation for modern “lawn tennis,” court tennis is a small but thriving international sport dating back to medieval times. This new and distinctively-built court, and its associated viewing and lounge area, is one of only 48 court tennis facilities in the world, and one of ten in the US.

Highly rated for playability and experience by top international court tennis players, the Club’s court tennis court has already hosted several successful tournaments within a year of its opening — including the 2023 Court Tennis World Championships. The court’s official opening was marked by Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, with an inaugural junior clinic instructed by the Club’s court tennis professional.
